1-SCOPE

This specification covers three cores armoured cables.
 

2. CONSTRUCTION

2.1 Conductor

Plain, annealed electrolytic copper conductors, circular stranded,conforming to the applicable requirements of BS EN 60228.

2.2 Insulation

Extruded inner semi conductive layer, XLPE insulation and  extruded outer semi conductive layer .

2.3 Metallic Screen Layer

Copper wires + Open Helix Copper Tape on each core

2.4 Separation Sheath

Low Smoke Zero Halogen Compound .

2.5 Armour

GALVANIZED STEEL WIRES .

2.5 Sheath

Low Smoke Zero Halogen Compound .

TEST AT WORKS GENERALLY TO BS 7835

Routine Tests

- Max. DC conductors resistance at 20°C acc. to BS EN 60228

- High voltage test acc. to BS 7835  parag. 18.6

- Max. partial discharge test  acc. To BS 7835  parag. 18.5

 

Liban Cables will carry out these tests on all the lengths and tests certificates will be provided.

- Check of the build - up and color coding of the cable                                                    

- Check of dimensions                                                  

            Insulation                      :           according to BS 7835     Parag.  19.7

            Separation sheath         :           according to BS 7835     Parag.  19.12

            Armouring                     :           according to BS 7835     Parag.  19.14

            Oversheath                   :           according to BS 7835     Parag.  19.15

 

These tests will be carried out on one length of each size during each inspection .

Tests certificates will be provided by Liban Cables

Mechanical characteristics on insulation and sheaths material (tensile strength and elongation at break  ) in accordance with BS 7835
